The fees generated by March Global Port are helping build new local schools while expanding others, improving our roads, creating new parks, and addressing our region’s flood control needs. Millions of dollars in new revenue is being stimulated through the development and operation of March Global Port. For example, nearly $2 million is projected to be generated for local road improvements. This includes road expansion, new signals and planned paving. Flood control improvements for Riverside County amount to more than $1 million. And more than $500,000 is expected to go to local schools.

Just a few years ago the community was worried about the possible financial impact the closing of March Air Force Base could have on the region. According to regional economist Dr. John Husing, the communities of Riverside, Moreno Valley and Perris would experience a $200 million economic loss if the base is shut down. However by sharing the airport with March Air Reserve Base, March Global is helping the Air Force offset costs while maintaining a strong military presence in our community. By keeping the base open, we are ensuring that military–oriented jobs stay local and adding civilian jobs as well.

March Global Port is being developed by visionary local business leaders who also live in the community. Together they have nearly 200 years of combined commitment to our region and the future. They understand that March Global Port means jobs, economic growth and revenues that will support a better quality of life for families throughout the region.
